This is a national search for inspirational college students who are positively impacting social and environmental challenges facing our communities. All college students, including those involved in the Students in Service program, are invited to apply!
View the current nominees, and plan to vote for your favorite starting on January 15, 2011!
The Students in Service Awards include scholarships and grants to three benefactors:
· College/University Students: One winner will receive a $5,000 academic service scholarship. Two runners-up will each receive $2,500 scholarships.
· College/University Service-Learning Centers: $2,500 grants will go to the college or university service-learning center (or department that supported their service project) of each of the three finalists for the purpose of supporting their civic engagement programs for students.
· Nonprofit Partners: $2,500 grants will go to each of the three nonprofit partners sponsoring the winning service projects to support their vital community work.
Students who apply for this award will have their projects posted on the Students in Service Awards website. Students, educators, family members, and other community members will be invited to vote for their favorite student/service project. Fan votes and the Washington Campus Compact staff selection committee will select the top 50 inspirational Semifinalists. A national Selection Committee of civic leaders, along with a fan vote, will select the final Students In Service Award winner and scholarship recipients.
